SKYTRICK - HOW DOES IT WORK?

You may not believe us but sometimes it is possible to find flights which would be two, three and occasionally even ten times cheaper than are offered even by the better search engines. Now we are going to explain why this happens and how to use it.

1. Sometimes a round-trip ticket is cheaper than a one-way ticket

Searching for a round-trip ticket will sometimes give you a lower price than just a one-way ticket for the same flight.

The point is that the price usually grows when the departure date approaches. First of all, the lowest tariffs are offered, then these tickets are sold out, and only the most expensive variants remain on offer. The thing is that the tickets can be sold in an uneven manner. That is why eventually the cheapest tariffs can be sold out for OW flights and remain on offer for roundtrip flights (if it turned out that few people have chosen the date). This is an explanation of such a situation. How to seek: get in some website with so-called "low price calendar" - for example, here. And look for roundtrip tickets for the appropriate date. But it may be no bargain prices there, so you would have just to sort tickets back and forth... Or just enter the necessary dates on www.skytrick.com.

2. At times, it appears to be cost-efficient to get out at the transfer point.

You may not know this, but a ticket from New York City to Paris could cost more than a flight from New York City to Moscow with a layover in Paris. Yeah! The same plane will fly to Paris and then a passenger will fly to Moscow. Yet, you will pay more than this passenger - and for the flight only to Paris!

Why does it work?

For instance, a ticket from Moscow to Helsinki via Riga might be substantially cheaper than a ticket to the same plane from Moscow to Riga. Seems quite stupid, on the first gaze. But the airline levies such tariffs when it need to ensure the load for both legs (or segments, as the professionals would say) of the flight, albeit the price is lower. Besides this, it would like to compete with air carriers which operate direct flights along this route. And as such a flight is more convenient, the competitive edge should be a lower price. Bear in mind that we should not ignore uneven sales: the tickets from Moscow to Riga can be sold faster than the tickets from Moscow to Helsinki via Riga.
How to seek: only by picking the cities nearest to the arrival point... Or just enter the necessary dates on www.skytrick.com.
  IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please note that getting out at the transfer point may be classified by some airlines as a violation of their rules. Therefore, we recommend: a) to travel without passing luggage or to clarify advance whether the luggage could be checked to the transfer point; b) not to specify your data for the airline loyalty program. Also bear in mind that if you do not appear at certain points during the flight, the remaining segments of the flight would be cancelled.
